Laura Lehto, Chair
Hi! I am the chair of Tipsy, a 1st year bachelor student from the Socially sustainable societies program! I am from Hämeenlinna and Helsinki. During this year my aim is to create memorable traditions, build bonds with other associations and richen the student life for our members. After this year we hopefully have had many new events suited for all and have more coming!
Luke Szpunar, Vice Chair & Education Policy Coordinator
Hi, I’m Luke and I study Peace, Mediation & Conflict Research. I grew up in the border region between Germany and Belgium and applied for this position in the hope of helping improve our Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. I enjoy reading, gaming, swimming, and watching series. Looking back in a year’s time, I would like TIPSY to have helped host events and create many fond memories. I also strive to have improved our academic courses so the next cohort of students can reap the rewards.
Matilda Miettinen, Treasurer
I’m Matilda, the Treasurer for 2026. I study Socially Sustainable Societies and Business, and as a true Tampere OG, I’m obviously an Ilves fan. In my free time, you’ll usually find me playing sports, especially volleyball with TTLK, our university team. And if I’m not playing sports, I’m probably watching them. I applied for the treasurer position because I already have experience in accounting, and it fits well with my studies. As Treasurer, my goal is to help TIPSY grow as an organization and expand our financial opportunities, hopefully enough to finally host vujut.
Ida Karjalainen, Secretary
Hiii! I’m Ida & the secretary of Tipsy in 2026! I’m Finnish and previously did my bachelor’s in political science at the University of Lapland. I moved to Tampere last autumn to start my master’s studies in the Peace, Mediation and Conflict Research programme. Besides studying, I love to read, dance and fangirl about anything and everything! I’m very excited to be a part of our Board and to get to know my fellow Tipsies!
Ella Järvi, Communications Coordinator
Hello! I’m Ella, and I am acting as the communications coordinator in 2026. I’m originally from Kokkola, Finland, but I have lived in Tampere since moving here to study in the SOS-programme. I wanted to apply for this position because I love creating social media content, and I felt that I had something fun and fresh to offer. If I could, I would spend all of my time somewhere near the ocean in a warmer climate, as I love sailing and swimming. During my time on our lovely Tipsy board, I’m hoping to further grow our social media channels and create some fun content.
Saimi Kaasalainen, Events Coordinator
Hi! I’m Saimi and I am one of the event coordinators for the year 2026. I’m excited about the upcoming year and I cannot wait to host amazing events for us! While I’m not studying, I’m usually with my friends, at the gym or just staying on my toes! I just moved to Tampere last fall and started studying in the Socially Sustainable Societies bachelor’s program. Hopefully we will see each other in future events!
Isa Schneider, Events Coordinator
Hi! My name is Isa, and I am one of Tipsy’s event coordinators alongside Saimi. I’m a first year student in Socially Sustainable Societies. I’m originally from the US, but I moved here in 2022 and completed the IB in Espoo before moving to Tampere for uni. I applied for this position because I have previous experience with similar work – but being a party animal certainly helps! I am a huge movie and language nerd as well as a proud Wikipedia editor. I hope that we can foster a stronger community in Tipsy and host the events that our members want. See you there!
Peppi Hammarén, Tutor Coordinator
Hiii, my name is Peppi, and I’m a first-year SOS student, and Tipsy’s tutor coordinator for 2026, which means I’m responsible for tutor selections, orientation and student overalls, for example. I am so excited that I get to plan a fun orientation experience for new fuksies! I love animals, and I’m lucky to have a dog and a horse who keep me busy alongside school and work <3.
